Financial engineering is the quantitative methodology used for development of solutions to financial problems. It is often used for development of new financial products, such as an existing basket of vanilla financial products, or combining features of different financial products in a hybrid financial product, in order to enhance the yield or changing the risk aspects of the new product in accordance with the views of the client.
